"This is a very nice local place that looks like a pasteleria but that also serves great food. I was tempted in after seeing a large portuguese group alongside a couple of solo diners. The food was really good, friendly service and an easygoing atmosphere. Tourists might be put off by the well-lit space but it felt relaxing once I was seated. I ordered the Açorda de Marisco: a shellfish and garlic loaded bread stew which is a bit lke a giant loose dumpling. This was really tasty with lots of cilantro, white wine and garlic to cut throgh the breadiness. I also ordered the house white wine and a salad to break up the breadiness. I expect this dish is easy to get wrong but it was great. I'll definitely return to try other parts of the menu."

"Huge portions, friendly accommodating service staff speaking English. Their pastel was also quite good."

"Came here twice in my 6 day trip. The service is great (although a little slow, I was fine with that but just don't come here if you're in a rush) and the food was amazing!! Huuuuge portions and a massive selection including desserts. The food is perfectly cooked and seasoned and very well priced too.Would definitely recommend. I tried the fried chicken steak with chips and veg (10/10), tuna steak with chips (9/10 as it was a little bit too salty), salmon (10/10), and a range of their desserts (their flan is my favourite). Their juice is really nice and fresh too!"

"A very affordable place with big portions. If you're hungry and don't want to spend a lot, come here. Visibly a lot of locals come here too. We went twice and had different dishes. The soups are great and recommended, the Bitoque (Portuguese plate with beef loin, egg, fries, rice and salad) is pretty good too. My girlfriend ate a sea food Black Spaghetti dish that she said are 8/10. The second day we had Grilled Black Pork strips, these were amazing and came with fries and salad. We also ordered the Grilled Turkey skewers, that came with grilled but unfortunately slightly burned prawns, which completely ruined them for me, as well as a piece of pineapple, fries and two smoked ham rolls. The waiters are amazingly kind and welcoming, speak good English and joke around lightly without being overbearing at all. Can definitely recommend if you look for afforadable good food, that isn't quite high quality restaurant level but definitely a lot better and more fulfilling than fast food. As for the atmosphere, the place itself is decent and definitely warm, but unfortunately they never turn off or dim the lights, so the atmosphere is a little weird. Sitting in a super lighted, almost too bright place at 9pm makes you not feel like your ending the night with a nice meal in a cozy place but more like you're sitting in a school cantine at lunch time."

"Authentic Portuguese food, service / atmosphere, and prices, IMHO. We had grilled sardines (8x 20cm fish, complete with head!), simple salad, and steak in sauce (with fries) - home-cooked flavours, good portions, great value. -------- NOTES: Limited English, don't be confused by two front entrances (also patio seating at rear). 'Relaxed' pace of service common in Portugal."

"We absolutely loved this pastry shop! We came here for breakfast two mornings in a row, and it quickly became one of our favorite spots. The sandwiches were very tasty – I had one with carne asada, which I really enjoyed. The pastéis de nata were also delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. The lovely lady at the counter was especially sweet, always smiling and making us feel very comfortable. The atmosphere was great, with many locals stopping by for their morning coffee, which made the place feel authentic and cozy. Highly recommended – we would definitely come back!"
